Alex Van Halen 1990s Used RIK Ballistic Prototype Signature Drumsticks w/ COA
An exceedingly rare and truly one-of-a-kind pair of Alex Van Halen custom RIK Ballistic Skin Carbon Bone prototype drumsticks, made for him around the time of the 1993 Van Halen Right Here, Right Now Tour. They were offered to Al with the hope that he would like them and endorse the brand. According to John Douglas, his drum tech, Alex used them for a couple songs during rehearsals and didn't like them. This is the only pair in the world! This lot comes from the private collection of John Douglas, professional drummer and veteran drum technician for Alex Van Halen, Tico Torres, Joey Kramer and others. In recent years, John has performed on various tours with Aerosmith, ZZ Top and Billy Gibbons. Outside of his renowned drum skills, Douglas is an established artist who's paintings are highly collectible and frequently the center of art gallery exhibitions around the country. He has also painted countless drum kits, kickdrum heads and gongs for the likes of Alex Van Halen, Nicko McBrain, Frank Beard, Alex Gonzalez, Tico Torres, Joey Kramer and others. Included with this lot is a John Douglas signed Certificate of Authenticity.
