Formed in Sayreville, New Jersey, in 1983, Bon Jovi became one of the defining arena-rock acts of the 1980s, breaking through with the 1986 album Slippery When Wet and its No. 1 singles "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "Livin' on a Prayer." The band's 2016 album This House Is Not For Sale, its first full studio album without longtime guitarist Richie Sambora, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and the supporting world tour carried the group into 2018, the same year it was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Japan in particular has been a loyal market for Bon Jovi since the band's earliest years, and its continued ability to fill large venues across Asia and Australia reflects an international following sustained over more than three decades.
