Offered Here: Bruce Springsteen 1965-1966 The Castiles Chamber of Commerce Benefit Ticket Stub

Item Details: Up for auction is an incredibly rare piece of rock history documenting the absolute dawn of a legendary career: a concert ticket stub from Bruce Springsteen's first band, The Castiles. Dating back to the mid 1960s, this historic artifact is from an annual Christmas Charity Benefit performance put on by the Western Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce in Freehold, New Jersey. Long before he became known worldwide as The Boss, a teenage Springsteen was refining his live performance skills and musical craft at local hometown gatherings just like this one. This ticket stub represents an foundational cornerstone for any serious Bruce Springsteen archive or pop culture collection.

The Castiles, formed in Freehold, New Jersey in 1965, were Bruce Springsteen's first serious band, with Springsteen playing guitar alongside singer George Theiss under the guidance of local manager Gordon "Tex" Vinyard. Playing local dances, teen clubs and community events and eventually reaching New York's Cafe Wha?, the group gave the teenage Springsteen his early grounding in live performance before it broke up in 1968. Springsteen has revisited the band in his 2016 memoir "Born to Run" and his Broadway show, presenting it as the starting point of the path that led to his career and his 1999 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Condition: The ticket stub is in exceptionally clean condition, presenting beautifully with very little sign of wear, aging, or storage. The edges, surface, and text remain remarkably well preserved for a paper artifact that is over six decades old. This item has been stored carefully to protect its historical integrity and will make a stellar addition to any display.
