Offered Here: Jump back, what's that sound? That's the sound of an Edward Van Halen owned & used rig that is up for auction with incredible provenance. Capturing the seismic sonic energy of the definitive guitar pioneer, this extraordinary Marshall half stack was personally owned and utilized both on stage and inside 5150 Studios by the legendary Edward Van Halen. Sourced directly from Eddie’s legendary guitar and amp technician, Randall "Zeke" Clark, this premier rock rig pairs a coveted 1980 Marshall JMP Mk. 2 100W Lead amplifier head (Serial No. 04638M) with a robust 1986 Marshall speaker cabinet loaded with four premium Celestion G12M Greenback speakers. Originally purchased in non-working condition from local music shops during tour downtime in the mid-to-late 1980s, the head was meticulously rebuilt and hot-rodded by Clark alongside master modifier Jose Arredondo at Jose’s shop, working in direct collaboration with Van Halen to capture his mythical, elusive "brown sound." This rigorous developmental process earned the head an exclusive "Z5150" stamp on the rear chassis, proving it was officially greenlit by EVH for rigorous use on tour and in the studio. Furthering its ironclad authenticity, the matching 1986 cabinet was custom hand-wired, signed, and inscribed on the interior by Clark himself for active duty alongside the head. The inscdription reads, "Handwired by Zeke Clark for EVH 5150 1986." Presenting in very good, road-tested condition, the entire rig exhibits the honest nicks, dings, and cosmetic wear consistent with standard tour and studio use, offering collectors a monumental artifact from the sonic engine that powered the band's multi-platinum eras..

Beyond his historic tenure as the custodian of Eddie's tone, Clark's elite five-decade career includes building, repairing, and maintaining specialized gear for iconic artists such as Prince, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Heart, Poison, and others.
