Additional Information: Hubert Sumlin was a noted guitarist best known for his work with Howlin' Wolf, becoming a vital part of his band and a major influencer in the world of blues music. The association with Ian McLagan stems from Sumlin’s historical performances when The Muleskinners, McLagan's pre-Small Faces group, backed Sumlin and Howlin’ Wolf during their impactful 1964 UK tour. This tour was part of the larger American Folk Blues Festival which played a crucial role in promoting blues music worldwide.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
