Additional Information: Ian McLagan attended Twickenham College of Technology and School of Art in the early 1960s, a time when London was emerging as a hub of the cultural revolution that gave rise to many legendary rock bands. His shift from visual arts to music coincided with the formation of the Small Faces in 1965, where he gained fame as a keyboardist. The band's blend of R&B, soul, and mod rock solidified McLagan's place in music history.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan, who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians, and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
Condition: All seven pieces remain in very good condition, exhibiting natural, warm discoloration consistent with their age. The drawings retain clarity and vibrancy, providing integrity to McLagan’s early work. Each piece measures 15 x 20 inches, offering a significant size for study and display.
