Offered Here: Iron Maiden 2006 Run For Cover: The Art of Derek Riggs Autographed & Dedicated by Derek Riggs
Item Details: Offered now is a spectacular and highly personalized collectible for heavy metal enthusiasts with this autographed copy of the 2006 book Run for Cover: The Art of Derek Riggs. This softcover volume serves as the definitive retrospective of the visionary artist responsible for creating Eddie, Iron Maiden's legendary and iconic mascot, alongside some of the most celebrated album covers in rock history. This specific copy has been personally autographed and customized by the artist himself, featuring a unique hand-drawn doodle and the personalized dedication "To Max All The Best" boldly inscribed across the page in a vibrant gold marker. It represents an exceptional opportunity to own a piece of heavy metal lore directly touched by the creator of the band's visual identity.
Derek Riggs created Eddie, the skeletal mascot who first appeared on the cover of Iron Maiden's 1980 self-titled debut album and has since become one of the most recognizable figures in heavy metal. Riggs painted the band's album and single artwork through the 1980s, including covers for Killers, The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave and Somewhere in Time, placing Eddie in a new setting for each release. His detailed, darkly humorous style helped establish the visual language of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and showed how a consistent visual identity could become central to a band's image, merchandise and stage shows.
Condition: The book is in very good condition, presenting with common signs of wear, ageing, and storage consistent with a carefully handled artistic volume. The softcover binding remains tight and fully intact, and the internal pages are clean, crisp, and beautifully printed. There are mild corner bumps to the cover edges from storage, which do not detract from the overall exceptional display quality or the striking clarity of the gold marker signature and custom artwork inside.
