Offered Here: Iron Maiden Derek Riggs Edwina in LA Autographed & Inscribed Poster
Item Details: This original 18 by 24 inch poster features the captivating Edwina in LA artwork by Derek Riggs, the legendary visionary behind Iron Maiden's visual identity. The piece highlights Edwina, a compelling female interpretation of the famous mascot Eddie, which Riggs specifically created in 2004 for the prominent all-female tribute band, The Iron Maidens. Making this an exceptionally personalized piece of heavy metal memorabilia, the poster is autographed by Derek Riggs in a striking gold marker, inscribed with the phrase All the best, and further embellished with unique hand-drawn sketches by the artist. This rare item represents a fascinating crossover in the band's extended history, offering a unique display piece for serious collectors.
Derek Riggs created Eddie, the undead figure who first appeared on Iron Maiden's self-titled 1980 debut album and went on to anchor the band's visual identity across sleeves, singles, stage shows and merchandise. His covers for records such as The Number of the Beast, Powerslave and Somewhere in Time made Eddie one of the most recognizable mascots in rock, helping establish the close link between album art and band identity that became a hallmark of heavy metal. Riggs's later work with The Iron Maidens, the all-female tribute act from Southern California, reflects how far Iron Maiden's imagery has extended into the wider fan and tribute culture surrounding the band.
Condition: The poster is in good condition, showing visible signs of wear, aging, and storage from handling over the years. There are several noticeable creases running across the middle section, along with general roll warpage from being stored tube-rolled. The perimeter shows instances of edge wear, and the main body features minor surface creasing and scattered light scratches, though the gold marker signature and custom artist illustrations remain bold and fully intact.
