Offered Here: KISS 1974 Lot of 3 BW 8 x 10 Prints of Paul Stanley at The Georgette Klinger Salon
Item Details: From the private collection of legendary rock photographer Waring Abbott, this premium lot features three 8 x 10 black-and-white prints documenting frontman Paul Stanley at the Georgette Klinger Salon on April 30, 1974. The candid, historic images capture Stanley reclined in a salon chair receiving treatment from an attendant while wearing two different types of facial beauty masks. Each highly collectible print is hand-signed and numbered by Waring Abbott, features his official photographer stamp on the reverse, and is in good condition with expected working-document wear including mild waving, punched holes, minor edge and corner wear, and age-related discoloration.
Provenance / Authenticity: The items in this lot are sourced directly from the personal archives of renowned photojournalist Waring Abbott. Abbott’s iconic imagery has graced the pages of Time, Newsweek, People, Rolling Stone, and countless foreign publications, alongside legendary album covers and photo spreads for KISS, Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, and Bob Dylan and others.
Paul Stanley co-founded KISS in New York in 1973 with Gene Simmons, and with Ace Frehley and Peter Criss the band released its self-titled debut album on Casablanca Records in early 1974. As rhythm guitarist, principal songwriter and frontman, Stanley adopted the painted "Starchild" persona, part of the makeup-and-costume identity that made KISS one of the most theatrical and heavily merchandised acts in rock. The band's image-driven approach shaped the visual language of arena rock, and Stanley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with KISS in 2014.
Condition: Good with mild waving, punched holes, mild edge and corner wear, discoloration due to age, and may show other common signs of age and storage.
