Dated June 12, 1974, this artifact captures a pivotal moment in music history as the iconic New York Dolls headlined the show while touring for their sophomore album, Too Much Too Soon. Sharing the bill was a young, ambitious band called KISS, who had released their self-titled debut album just four months prior. The New York Dolls, formed in New York City in 1971, combined raw, Rolling Stones-inspired rock and roll with a deliberately outrageous glam image, and their two albums, New York Dolls (1973) and Too Much Too Soon (1974), sold modestly but became foundational influences on the punk movement, from the Ramones to the Sex Pistols, whose manager Malcolm McLaren had briefly worked with the Dolls. Condition: The poster is preserved in extremely good condition, showing only minor indications of wear, aging, and storage over its five-decade history. There is very light, uniform fading to the body from past display, with the top and bottom edges remaining slightly darker where a previous frame protected the paper. The reverse side shows standard signs of handling, with original tape residue present in both top corners from its historical mounting.
