KISS's 1975 visit to Cadillac, Michigan, came after the local high school football coach began playing the band's music in the locker room to lift a struggling team, which went on to turn its season around. The band traveled to the small town for homecoming festivities that included a parade and a performance at the high school, an event that drew national media attention. The visit came as KISS was breaking through commercially with the live album Alive!, and it remains a frequently cited example of the band's early bond with its fans and its flair for public spectacle.
