Item Details: Capture the excitement of a historic rock-and-roll event with this unique lot of three black-and-white 8 x 10 photographs featuring KISS posing with the Cadillac Fire Department, their firetruck, and wearing fire dress hats in Cadillac, Michigan, on October 9, 1975. Provenance / Authenticity: The items in this lot are sourced directly from the personal archives of renowned photojournalist Waring Abbott. Abbott’s iconic imagery has graced the pages of Time, Newsweek, People, Rolling Stone, and countless foreign publications, alongside legendary album covers and photo spreads for KISS, Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, and Bob Dylan and others.
In October 1975 KISS visited the small northern Michigan town of Cadillac after the high school football coach credited the band's music with inspiring his team to turn around a losing season, and the town responded with a parade, a concert in the school gymnasium, and residents wearing KISS-style face paint. The visit came as the live album "Alive!" was lifting the band from a heavily touring cult act to national success, and the Cadillac homecoming showed how closely KISS cultivated a direct, community-level bond with its fans. The event remains a well-known episode in the band's history, and the town has revisited it in later anniversary commemorations.
Condition: Very good with mild edge and corner wear and subtle signs of age and punched holes
