Provenance / Authenticity: Roger Epperson (REAL) Letter of Authenticity and from a KISS Crew Member.
Paul Stanley co-founded KISS in New York City in 1973 with Gene Simmons, and as the band's rhythm guitarist, principal songwriter and frontman, he helped build one of rock's most theatrical live shows, combining face paint, pyrotechnics and elaborate staging. Smashing a guitar at the climax of the set became a recurring part of Stanley's stage routine, carrying forward a gesture associated with earlier rock performers into the arena-scale spectacle that defined KISS concerts. The band's emphasis on live performance and visual presentation influenced generations of hard rock and heavy metal acts, and KISS was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
Condition: Stage smashed with visible gashes, dings and missing paint. Not playable. As-is condition. Guitar is in two pieces with the strings and bridge taped to the neck. No pick guard and all visible decals removed including serial numbers.
