Offered Here: KISS Alive! 1975 RIAA Gold Record Award Presented to Peter ‘Moose’ Oreckinto With COA

Item Details: An official first generation KISS RIAA gold record award for the 1975 ‘Alive!’ album, presented to Peter ‘Moose’ Oreckinto. It measures 17 x 21 inches and is in very good overall condition, with some light scuffs to the Plexi and wear to the frame. This award comes directly from the private collection of Peter ‘Moose’ Oreckinto and will be accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity, signed by Oreckinto.

Provenance / Authenticity: Peter ‘Moose’ Oreckinto is best known for being an original member of the KISS road crew and for helping to engineer and develop many of their early stage effects and gear. He joined the band in September of 1973 and was primarily brought in as the drum technician for Peter Criss. He eventually parted ways with the band after the 1976 ‘Destroyer’ tour.

Released in September 1975, KISS's double album "Alive!" became the band's commercial breakthrough after three studio records that had sold modestly, capturing the energy of a live show that had built their following on the road. Its success, driven in part by the live version of "Rock and Roll All Nite," is widely credited with rescuing the financially struggling Casablanca Records and turning KISS into a major arena attraction. The album also helped establish the live record as a career-making format for rock acts in the mid-1970s, and the band later revisited the concept with "Alive II" and subsequent live releases.
