Offered Here: Keith Moon 1965 Early Correspondence Lot of 2 Telegrams. This lot contains two original telegrams from The Who’s drummer Keith Moon to his then-girlfriend Kim Kerrigan. Dated November 18, 1965, and January 31, 1966, these telegrams offer a glimpse into the couple’s early relationship, solidified by their marriage in March 1966, shortly after they met in January 1965. The telegrams are sourced from Ian McLagan’s estate, the keyboardist for Small Faces, Faces, and The Rolling Stones, who later wed Kim in 1978.

Additional Information: In the high-energy years of the British Invasion, The Who quickly gained momentum as one of the era-defining bands. The mentioned telegrams date from a period when The Who had recently released their debut album "My Generation," in December 1965, which helped establish them as prominent figures in rock music. This collection highlights the personal life of Moon during a pivotal time for the band.

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.

Condition: Both telegrams are in very good condition, showing light wear that is appropriate for their age. They have been remarkably well-preserved over the decades, highlighting their significance as artifacts from the British Invasion era.
