Offered Here: Led Zeppelin 1975 Bill Graham Day on the Green Concert Poster
Item Details: This is a spectacular piece of rock and roll history featuring an original Led Zeppelin 1975 Bill Graham Day on the Green concert poster. The entire matted and backed piece measures 23 by 28 1/2 inches and was produced to promote the legendary band's scheduled performances on August 23 and 24, 1975, at the Oakland Stadium, featuring support from Joe Walsh and the Pretty Things. This particular poster holds incredible historical significance as the entire event was famously cancelled following a severe car accident that frontman Robert Plant suffered while vacationing in Greece, making this an elite artifact from a major tour that never came to fruition.
By 1975 Led Zeppelin were among the most commercially successful rock acts in the world, and that year's double album Physical Graffiti extended a run of records that helped define hard rock and heavy metal. After Robert Plant was seriously injured in a car accident on the Greek island of Rhodes in August 1975, the band canceled its planned late-summer American concerts and instead recorded the album Presence in Munich while Plant recovered. Led Zeppelin did eventually headline Bill Graham's Day on the Green in Oakland in July 1977, and those shows proved to be the band's last concerts in the United States.
Condition: The poster is in extremely good condition, presenting beautifully with very little sign of wear, ageing, or storage to either the print or the presentation materials. The colors and graphics remain bold and vibrant, making this an absolute center-stage piece ready for premium gallery display.
