Offered Here: Lot of 4 New Wave & Post Punk Official Tour Programs Blondie + David Bowie + Talking Heads + Elvis Costello
Item Details: Immerse yourself in the golden era of underground attitude and art-rock brilliant design with this ultimate auction lot featuring four official vintage tour programs from the absolute trailblazers of the New Wave and Post-Punk movements. This incredible collection kicks off with the pioneering style of Blondie from their 1982 tour, paired perfectly with David Bowie during his legendary 1983 Serious Moonlight era. You will also score the groundbreaking, cinematic musical journey of Talking Heads from their historic 1984 Stop Making Sense tour, capped off by the sharp-witted genius of Elvis Costello and his 1982 world tour program. While all four pieces carry the proud, authentic signs of age, handling, and storage from their rock and roll journeys, please note that the Elvis Costello program features two distinct hard folds across the middle from being previously folded.
Blondie and Talking Heads both emerged from the mid-1970s New York scene centered on CBGB, with Blondie carrying that underground sensibility onto the pop charts through hits such as "Heart of Glass" and "Call Me," while Talking Heads fused art-school minimalism with funk and African rhythms, a direction later captured in Jonathan Demme's 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense. In Britain, Elvis Costello rose out of the pub rock and punk era with his 1977 debut My Aim Is True and, often backed by the Attractions, became known as one of the most literate songwriters of his generation. David Bowie, whose late-1970s Berlin-era work with Brian Eno influenced much of post-punk, reached his widest commercial audience in 1983 with Let's Dance and the Serious Moonlight tour, showing how the sounds and attitudes of new wave had moved into the mainstream by the early 1980s.
Condition: Very good to good. The Elvis Costello program has two hard folds across the middle having been previously folded. All programs show signs of age and storage.
