This extraordinary lot features two original 1/4-inch magnetic tape reels, containing master versions of "Need All My Friends" and "Michelle" which became the debut release for Lynard Skynard, captured before the band finalized their iconic name. One reel is the initial master, while the other is the finalized, mixed version that was ultimately pressed into vinyl. Representing the earliest known studio recordings of these songs, this historic session predates their famous Quinvy Studio recordings in Alabama. The reels are housed in vintage boxes with a handwritten notations indicating their purpose for vinyl pressing, duplication, and commercial distribution. These pieces hail from the private archive of the founders of Shade Tree Records in Jacksonville, Florida, the label that originally signed the young band known then as The One Percent.
