This is an exceptionally rare 1978 reissue 45 RPM single featuring Lynyrd Skynyrd’s earliest foundational tracks, "Need All My Friends" and "Michelle," under their iconic moniker. The record originates from the private archives of Shade Tree Records' founders in Jacksonville, Florida, who originally signed the band as The One Percent in 1969. The sleeve boasts a "Skynyrd's First" stamp, and the vinyl label is stamped "PROMO." This item was presumed lost until its rediscovery in 1997 and comes with a thumb drive containing high-quality WAV audio transfers of the tracks.
Additional Information: Lynyrd Skynyrd, originally known as The One Percent, emerged in Jacksonville, Florida, and became synonymous with Southern rock. This reissue represents an important part of Skynyrd’s history just before they signed with Sounds of the South and released their debut album "Pronounced 'Leh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd" in 1973. The tracks featured here are foundational works that contributed to the band’s signature sound.
