"Glam Slam" was a single from Prince's 1988 album Lovesexy, a record he made in the weeks after abruptly withdrawing The Black Album shortly before its planned release in late 1987, and which reflected the spiritual themes that run through much of his work from that period. Lovesexy reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom and was supported by the elaborate Lovesexy Tour. The song's title later became the name of the Glam Slam nightclubs Prince opened in the early 1990s, beginning in Minneapolis.
