Mick Jagger's work as frontman of the Rolling Stones has run alongside an intermittent film career that began with Nicolas Roeg and Donald Cammell's "Performance" and the title role in "Ned Kelly," both released in 1970. In "Freejack," the 1992 science fiction film co-starring Emilio Estevez, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins, Jagger played Vacendak, a mercenary who snatches people from the past so their bodies can be used in the future. The role came during a gap between the Stones' "Steel Wheels" era and "Voodoo Lounge," a period in which Jagger also pursued solo projects, and it remains one of his most prominent screen appearances.
