Formed in Huntington Park, California, in 1981, Slayer became one of the "Big Four" of American thrash metal alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax, defined by Tom Araya's bass and vocals, the twin-guitar attack of Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, and Dave Lombardo's fast, aggressive drumming. The band's 1986 album Reign in Blood, produced by Rick Rubin, is widely regarded as a landmark of extreme metal, and its speed, brevity, and dark themes influenced generations of thrash, death metal, and hardcore musicians. Slayer later won two Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performance and continued recording and touring until a farewell tour that concluded in 2019.
Condition: Very good, as-is, with a few chips of paint missing around the rear strap knob area.
