Offered Here: The Tubes 1980s-1990s Fee Waybill Owned & Stage Worn Customized Leather Vest w/ Airbrushed Back. This unique, custom leather vest was personally owned and worn by Fee Waybill, the legendary lead singer of The Tubes. Originally designed as a jacket, the garment was modified into a vest with hand-cut sleeves and the removal of front pockets, creating a distinct stage appearance. The vest is heavily adorned with buttons, studs, and pins, and showcases a custom-airbrushed skeleton motif on the back. Despite heavy wear from its use by Waybill, the vest maintains its integrity and captures the raw essence of theatrical rock attire.

Additional Information: Fee Waybill, known for his theatrical performances and distinctive stage presence, was a central figure in The Tubes, a rock band originating from San Francisco known for their satirical and theatrical live shows, during the 1980s and 1990s. The band gained a following for their eclectic music style and elaborate stage performances, most notably with hits like "White Punks on Dope" and "She's a Beauty."

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Fee Waybill, legendary front man and lead singer of iconic rock band The Tubes. It was selected from a vast collection of mementos and memorabilia, and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Fee Waybill.

Condition: The vest displays heavy wear consistent with extensive use on stage. The modifications and adornments contribute to its distinctive appearance, and while it shows significant signs of stage use, it remains well-preserved, capturing the aesthetic essence intended by its custom design.
