Offered Here: Van Halen 1971 Mark Stone Autographed Genesis Photo Print With COA

Item Details: This is an exceptional and highly unique piece of classic rock memorabilia featuring an 8 x 10 inch digital photo print of an incredibly rare vintage photograph documenting the embryonic beginnings of Van Halen. The image captures the legendary rock trio during their earliest days when they performed under the moniker Genesis, featuring Edward Van Halen on guitar, Alex Van Halen on drums, and Mark Stone on bass. This historic print is boldly autographed in the bottom right corner in vibrant silver marker by original bassist Mark Stone, who added the highly desirable handwritten notation "Genesis 1971." Offering a rare visual glimpse into the foundation of one of rock history's greatest powerhouses, this autographed print is a stellar addition to any advanced Van Halen collection or rock archive.

Provenance / Authenticity: This lot originates directly from the personal collection of Mark Stone, a multi-talented artist who was the original bass player and backing vocalist for Mammoth and Van Halen from 1972 to 1974 and an accomplished luthier. As a foundational figure in the band's legendary early history, Stone performed on their seminal studio demos and extended his creative contributions by designing the iconic original band logo utilized by Mammoth and early Van Halen. Offered directly from his estate, these historic items will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by an authorized representative of the Stone estate.

Before they became Van Halen, brothers Edward and Alex Van Halen played backyard parties, high school dances and local clubs in Pasadena, California, first as Genesis and then as Mammoth, building the repertoire and live reputation that would carry the group forward after David Lee Roth joined on vocals and Michael Anthony took over on bass. Renamed Van Halen, the band signed with Warner Bros. and released its self-titled debut in 1978, an album whose instrumental "Eruption" introduced many listeners to Edward Van Halen's two-handed tapping technique and helped reshape rock guitar playing. Van Halen became one of the most commercially successful American hard rock bands and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

Condition: The digital photo print is in extremely good condition, showing almost no signs of wear, aging, or handled storage. The surface of the photograph remains pristine, the silver marker signature is bright and sharp against the image background, and the edges and corners are crisp and free from damage.
