Item Details: Get ready to blow the roof off with this ultimate powerhouse of nineties rock history, featuring an authentic RIAA multi-platinum sales award for Van Halen's blistering 1991 masterpiece, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Commemorating the spectacular milestone of sales exceeding two million copies, this massive award celebrates the era of chart-topping hits like "Poundcake," "Right Now," and "Top of the World." This highly collectible piece is designed in the classic R hologram style and features an impressive, expanded format that brings together the platinum record, cassette, and compact disc layouts all in one stunning display. Carrying unmatched rock-god provenance, the award is officially presented to Zeke Clark, Van Halen's legendary longtime lead guitar technician. Measuring approximately 17 x 25 inches, this spectacular, oversized accolade stands as a definitive monument to the band's Grammy-winning dominance.

Provenance/Authenticity: Randall "Zeke" Clark is a renowned luthier and legendary guitar/amp technician who got his start in the San Francisco music scene in the 70s, working with various A-list artists until moving to LA in the 80s, where he worked for Eddie Van Halen.

From 1985 to 1993, he served as Edward Van Halen’s lead guitar and amp tech, transitioning to the crew with Sammy Hagar to maintain the band's gear through the monumental 5150, OU812, and For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge eras.

Beyond his historic tenure as the custodian of Eddie's tone, Clark's elite five-decade career includes building, repairing, and maintaining specialized gear for iconic artists such as Prince, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Heart, Poison, and others. This curated selection of items offers collectors a unique and direct connection to rock history through the hands of a master craftsman who shaped the sound of guitar royalty.

This item was personally handled, vetted, and released by Zeke Clark, ensuring its authenticity and rock-history provenance. Zeke Clark utilizes an Official Personal Signature Stamp to validate and inventory documents and artifacts released directly from his private estate. This item comes with his personal ink-imprinted signature stamp on the certificate of authenticity, which serves as his legally binding, authorized mark of verification and carries the full weight of a hand-signed signature.

Van Halen's For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, released in 1991 as the band's third studio album with Sammy Hagar, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, extending a run of chart-topping albums that began with 5150 and OU812. The record won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance, and the video for "Right Now" was named Video of the Year at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards. The album arrived as grunge was reshaping rock radio, and its success showed that Van Halen's hard rock sound, built around Eddie Van Halen's guitar playing, still had a large commercial audience in the early 1990s.

Condition: The award is preserved in exceptionally good condition, presenting a remarkably clean and vibrant appearance with only minor signs of wear, aging, and storage from decades of careful preservation. The front plexiglass exhibits light surface spotting that does not detract from the overall brilliance of the triple-format presentation. On the reverse side, the award retains its original backing paper, which shows some light spotting consistent with common storage conditions over the years, leaving the structure completely intact and ready for premier exhibition.
