Item Details: This exceptionally rare and highly sought-after Premium Gold Edition of KISS: The Box Set, released in November 2001, is the ultimate grail for any member of the Kiss Army. Housed in a full-size customized guitar case featuring a brass-colored plaque that reads "KISS BOX SET 1966-2001," this incredibly scarce, numbered #0046 limited edition set includes five unopened CDs, an official RIAA Record Award for KISS Alive presented to the KISS Army, a merchandise catalog insert, and a black 6x10 envelope complete with an unbroken, unopened wax KISS seal. The comprehensive set also comes with its original hardbound photo book, which exhibits minor wear consisting of slight damage and some bends to the very last page. The custom guitar case itself remains in very good condition with only minimal exterior wear, making this an incredible museum-quality centerpiece for any serious rock and roll collection.
Formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, KISS became one of the most recognizable acts in rock through their face-paint personas, elaborate stage productions and heavy merchandising, building a devoted fan base known as the KISS Army. Their 1975 double album Alive! was their commercial breakthrough, bringing "Rock and Roll All Nite" to a wide audience and establishing the live album as a defining format for 1970s hard rock. KISS: The Box Set traced the band's history from Stanley's and Simmons's pre-KISS recordings of the late 1960s and early 1970s through their later catalog, and the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
