This listing presents a rare deluxe edition of Mr Fantasy: The Lyrics of Jim Capaldi, published in 2012 by Genesis Publications. The edition is number 245 of a strictly limited worldwide run of only 900 copies. Each copy is hand-signed by Traffic co-founder Steve Winwood, legendary vocalist Robert Plant, and Jim's wife, Aninha Capaldi. It features over 70 sets of handwritten lyrics reproduced in facsimile, along with personal recollections from over 40 contributors, such as Pete Townshend, Tom Petty, and Paul Weller. Elegantly bound in fine-grain vegan leather with gold foil blocking and blind embossing, the book is designed to replicate Jim’s original notebooks and is housed in a handmade folding solander box. The edition includes an exclusive 7-inch vinyl single with a reggae version of "40,000 Headmen" and a demo of "State of Grace," plus a reproduction of David Oxtoby's color etching "Rock On JC."

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Lee McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
Condition: The book is in exceptionally good condition and shows little to no sign of wear, aging, or storage. The binding remains firm and the vegan leather cover is pristine with no visible marks or scuffing. Internally, the pages are clean and the vibrant illustrations and hand-cut edges remain in their original state. The accompanying solander box and vinyl single are also excellently preserved, maintaining the high production standards expected of a Genesis Publications limited edition.
