This auction features an original concert ticket for Rod Stewart & Brian Auger's Trinity at Eel Pie Island on Friday, July 9th, 1965. This event, organized by Twickenham Tech, marked a pivotal moment in British rock and soul history, as just one week later, the group would evolve into the supergroup Steampacket with the addition of Long John Baldry and Julie Driscoll. The ticket was designed by the noted artist Colin Fulcher, also known as Barney Bubbles, who contributed significantly to the visual identity of the Thames Delta scene. The ticket measures approximately 3 7/8 x 6 1/8 inches.
Additional Information: Eel Pie Island, a notable music venue in the 1960s, was a hub for emerging rock and blues artists. This period saw Trinity on the cusp of transforming into Steampacket, a group credited with pioneering the 'supergroup' concept in music. Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Lee McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
Condition: The ticket is in very good condition, preserving the vibrancy of its original design with only minor signs of wear and aging. It exhibits slight evidence of storage, yet retains the historical integrity of this mid-60s club circuit artifact.
